Team Member Focus June: Roderick Page

Last month we introduced you to accounts star Ann McArdle, who discussed her strangest delivery stories and what superpower she wished she could have.

Taking to the spotlight this month is our courier driver, Roderick Page, who has been at the company for four years.

Read on to find out more about his unexpected secret, what kind of animal he would be and the exotic location he would like to travel to.

What do you do at Eagle Couriers?

I work as one of the company’s many courier van drivers.

How many years have you been working with Eagle Couriers?

I’ve worked for the company for about four years.

What do you enjoy most about working there?

I have a great relationship with my co-workers, we have the same banter so we get on really well.

Do you have any strange stories from your time there?

Well, you never know what you are going to pick up so you can get a lot of strange things. One of the strangest I have picked up was a few Easters ago when I had to deliver body guts, it smelled awful.

What is something unexpected about you?

Not many people know, from the age of 15 I was a deep-sea fisherman for 11 years. It is one of the most dangerous jobs in the world.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy reading, relaxing and consuming my favourite food Singapore rice!

What foods can you not stand?

I despise raisins.

If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be?

It would definitely be Tahiti – I read about it when I was 12/13 years old and have wanted to go ever since.

If you could have dinner with any three people, living or dead, who would it be and why?

ACDC – I love their music, Mary Berry as she is a good cook and Shania Twain because she’s good looking!

If you could teleport yourself to anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?

Like I said, I have always wanted to go to Tahiti so it would have to be there.

What kind of animal do you think you would be?

A golden eagle, as I would be on the top of a mountain free and away from all the hassle.

If you were stranded on a desert island and you could only bring three things, what would they be?

Singapore rice and Tennent’s Lager as you need to keep eating and drinking, then probably a pack of matches because you can’t go wrong with them.

If you could be inside the world of any book, TV show or film, which one would it be and why?

It would have to be Dumb and Dumber as I have a stupid sense of humour!
