At Eagle Couriers, our team is full of enthusiastic, hardworking people who contribute directly to the growth and success of our courier services in Scotland.
Taking the spotlight this month is Eagle Couriers’ Operations Assistant Zander Mooney who has recently celebrated his sixth year of working within the logistics industry.
Tell us about yourself
I’m 27 years old and born and bred in Livingston – which is extremely handy for commuting to the Eagle Couriers head office in Bathgate.
I’ve been working in the logistics industry for six years and made the move from APC to Eagle Couriers in April 2022.
What does a day in your life look like at Eagle Couriers?
As an Operations Assistant, no two days are the same and they are always fast-paced which I love. You encounter new challenges all the time and have the opportunity to come up with innovative, creative solutions to problems.
My responsibility lies across both Eagle Couriers and Eagle Aviation, meaning I deal with customers, businesses and passengers. On top of this, I’m responsible for booking and pricing jobs, then allocating them to drivers.
Careers in logistics offer great opportunities to get involved and learn about a selection of industries while providing an essential service.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
The fast-paced style of the logistics industry really suits me. I love being kept busy and, in this role, you are always on the go which makes the days fly by so quickly. The role also allows you to interact with people you most likely would never have crossed paths with and due to this your problem-solving needs to be inclusive and diverse.
To keep it balanced, like every other industry, there can be challenges. Juggling all of the different duties and learning the ins and outs of each service can be hectic and takes time to pick up but we’re really lucky to have such impressive role models to learn from and ask questions about.
When you’re not at Eagle Couriers what do you like to do in your spare time?
If I’m not watching or playing football you will catch me playing video games or spending quality time with family and friends.
We pride ourselves on the courier services in Scotland we give to our customers, and are pleased to have NHS, Scottish Government, and Scottish Police Authority amongst our customers.
