Aidan Lynn
Aidan has been with Eagle Couriers for over four years, initially being drawn to the company by our promise of varied days and progression opportunities.
Since then, Aidan has transitioned through a variety of roles that showcase his immense adaptability and commitment to the organisation.
“I started as a courier, carrying out the day-to-day jobs transporting anything from blood and organs to case notes. I enjoyed the long-distance driving; I think the furthest I’ve been is Southampton.
“I did that for around three years before I moved into an office role. I didn’t picture myself in the office, but I’m glad I made the jump when I did.
“The first eight months in the office I was part of our control team where I’d allocate work for the drivers and organise their daily jobs.”
Group Manager at Eagle Samuel Milne quickly noticed Aidan’s aptitude for logistics and operations.
“Samuel obviovsly liked how I approached the role when I was part of the control team and recognised that my talents were better suited to the operations team, which is where I’ve been for around ten months now.
“The role is much more hands on. Every day is completely different. One day it’s really busy with customer enquiries, other days I’m ensuring vital medication is packaged and delivered safely to the Scottish Islands.
“I’ve even covered at our Newcastle depot for the aviation side of the business. There’s not much at Eagle I’ve not done, I’m a jack of all trades.”
Aidan contributes the environment of progression at Eagle as the reason for his success, allowing him the opportunity to fulfil such a variety of roles.
“The management are heavily involved with the day-to-day of the business, so they’re constantly opening doors for people to advance from within.
“Samuel and Fiona [Managing Director] are trusting me more as I progress, for example I’m now often responsible for ensuring the drivers are being paid correctly and that all the jobs are priced properly.
“I’d recommend anyone interested in this industry to work at Eagle – they are really invested in their employees, and it’s an exciting industry to be a part of.”
Aidan’s journey demonstrates how adaptability and dedication can lead to a varied and rewarding career at Eagle Couriers.
